Blue4Burke Benefit Concert

Last summer I received a call from the mother of friend of mine. She told me that his sister was going to school with a boy who was fighting leukemia. She said that he had just entered remission and the PTA was organizing a benefit concert for him to celebrate and raise money for his family. The call was to ask if I would sponsor the event by recording the video and making DVDs for his parents, and I was more than willing to do this for them.

I’ll never forget this project. I survived childhood leukemia myself. I knew how meaningful of a gesture this concert would be and I wanted to make sure the videos would demonstrate that. This was after my first multicam shoot with Morgan Treni, and I had recently discovered the automatic audio synching and multicam editing features of Adobe Premiere Pro CC. To take advantage of the new editing technique we brought more cameras than ever to this event. We had a Cyber-shot with 50x optical zoom in the balcony, a GoPro on the stage, and Markus with his A7, and I with my T3i, flanking the stage from the pit.
